The Russian Ambassador Mr V.Barbin’s comment to «Altinget» on the issue of new agreement that gives the Danish military new capabilities in the Arctic region

The editorial of «Altinget» has request a comment regarding the new agreement that gives the Danish military new capabilities in the Arctic region, including two long range UAVs and an air surveillance radar at the Faroe Islands.
The Russian Ambassador Mr V.Barbin has forwarded the following comment on this issue:
«National security as well as security in the Arctic region could not be ensured exclusively by military means. It is of pivotal importance to launch a security dialogue embracing all the Arctic states and aimed at promoting mutual confidence and proper interpretation of the military activities of each other.
A proactive stance of Denmark on this issue could contribute immensely to the security and predictability in the Arctic».
