These naval exercises are being held on the false pretext of “promoting the freedom of navigation” which has never been endangered or questioned in the area of Barents Sea. Such exercises close to the Russian borders provoke doubts regarding the fairness of the statements made by our Arctic neighbors that they want to keep the region as a low-tension area.

Recently, there has been a growing interest in transit services within the connection between South Korea and Japan with the EU countries. The figures for the growth in the volume of railway transit between the EU and the PRC are convincing, which in five years, from 2014 to 2019, increased eightfold.
In the first half of 2020, the positive trend preserves: more than 220 thousand TEUs were transported in the China - Europe - China traffic via the JSC “Russian Railways” network with an increase of 43% compared to last year.
